Oh lord. It finally happened.

I thought I would share this story as 1) a warning to anyone thinking of having children and 2) a reminder to all those that have kids that are past the diaper stage of how much they are missing.

This morning Campbell was hanging out in her swing while Kyle and I got ready for the day. I got out of the shower and got dressed and came out to pick her up. I checked her diaper...nothing. I gave her a bottle which seemed to go over quite well. Then she started "squirming" around on my lap and turning red in the face, a sure sign that there would be a present in her diaper. After a few minutes of squirming, I remembered that my sister told me they will sometimes give the babies something to push against if they are struggling. SO--I put my hand down and let her push her little feet against my hand. Not 10 seconds later....OH MY GOD! She pooped me! There was a terrible sound and then a cascade of poo running out her diaper and onto my lap, onto my leg, onto my shorts, onto my hands. It was everywhere.

I picked her up (from the poo sprinkled chair) and ran to the bathroom where Kyle was taking a shower. I couldn't even tell him what happened...he looked out from the shower curtain, burst into laughter and informed me that he wouldn't touch the baby. I was welcome to hold her while he sprayed her off, but he couldn't touch her. All the while, I am forming a drippy trail of poo drips on the tile. Ugh.

To get her clothes off, I got poo in her hair. To clean her butt took 5 wipes....plus the 2 that it took to clean her foot off after she put it in the overflowing diaper mess. This kid was giving me a run for my money! The best part was that she was giggling the whole time. So proud of herself. I was traumatized, she was ecstatic.

No surprise, she was hungry as soon as I got her cleaned up. I guess when you clean out your entire gastrointestinal tract at one time, it works up an appetite.

Pretty Girl.

Watch out GERBER baby...here comes Campbell.
Kyle stayed home with the baby while I had a very hectic day at work.  This is what I received while I was working....made my day!

Look at that melon....she is doing such a good job on holding her head up.  I can't even stand it.  If you look closely, you can see the "love roll" (not fat roll) that is forming on her wrists....and you can definitely see at least 2 of her chins.

Big girl panties

Okay, so not real big girl panties, but we used our last "newborn" sized diaper on Wednesday June 17th. Camy is 100% in size 1s....which means she is growing up! Oh--she has been over the weight limit for the newborns for 2 weeks, but her little butt and waist were just too small to move up. She is really long so maybe she will stay tall and thin.

Grandma's visit

Grandma Kathy came for 2weeks in early June and we had a wonderful time. The weather was beautiful (read as NOT in the high 90s everyday) and Campbell did her best to charm Grandma at every moment. One day, we drove to Gruene, TX (pronounced Green) and walked around the shops, ate at a beautiful restaurant on the river and generally enjoyed ourselves.
Kyle and I at the Grist Mill Restaurant.Kyle and Grandma. Notice the hat!
No, Grandma....I like to be naked! How many times do I have to tell you?!
"You want a piece of this?" This look keeps me in stitches. She gets her head up, it wobbles and she looks around at the world. She is getting so good at holding up her head......I think she will be rolling over in no time.

Auntie Jan and Uncle John meet CamySue

In late May, Kyle's sister Jan and her husband John came and stayed for a couple of days. It was a wonderful trip....although I am not sure if Camy Sue behaved well enough to prompt them for a cousin. :-). We'll see.
Uncle John has experience with his nephew, so he took to uncle-ing like a duck to water. Camy Sue was a big fan as you can see.
On their last morning here, we went to Denny's...cuz that's where you go in College Station when the 1 (yes, 1!) diner in town is closed until 11am. Who the heck goes to a diner at 11am? Ugh--this town is an enigma wrapped in mystery. Here are some sweet pics from our trip to Denny's.

When we got home that day, Camy Sue and I took a really really good nap. I hate this image of myself, but it is too funny to pass up. She is such a snuggle bunny. We both look like a hot mess......but hey, we didn't have time to prepare for our close-ups.

OH---while Jan and John were in town, we went to the winery in town and had the best Raspberry Sparkling wine. I swear there is something about bubbles in the wine that make you feel more beautiful.

Dude....where did the last month go?

I have pictures to catch up on...but here is a little bit of catching up first.
At the end of May, Proud Auntie Jan and Uncle John came to visit on their way from St. Louis to NOLA. This was an excellent trip! Camy Sue got some quality time with more family and Proud Auntie Jan got some hands-on birth control. :-). The aunt and uncle managed to get in and out of town without getting "pooped" which is more than I can say for either grandma. Campbell takes after her mom....and has no trouble getting "business" done regardless of the situation. ahhh---what a little lady.

Campbell is holding up her head, grunting with the effort of holding up that giant baby-melon, and is starting to grab things with some force. She is also really excited about jumping and pushing up with her legs. She is not rolling over, but that should come in the next few weeks. She is eating like a starving goat and getting fat rolls on her fat rolls. She even has a roll forming on her wrist! I take personal satisfaction in her new pudginess.

I will post some more recent pictures this weekend, but for now, here are the stats from Campbell's 2-month check-up.
Height: 23 inches
Weight: 11 lbs, 13 oz
Head circumference: 38 cm
She is in the 90th percentile for height (sweet!) and the 80th percentile for weight and....drumroll......the 95 percentile for head size! Once she gets her hands and arms under control, she will be unstoppable.
